FSPCA PC Qualified Individual Course for Human Food

FSPCA PCQI at UC Davis

The FSPCA PC Qualified Individual Course for Human Food was held September 26-28th, 2023 at UC Davis in the Robert Mondavi Institute's Brewery, Winery & Food Pilot Facility, Classroom 1106 & Laboratory 1104.  (The last day, Thursday, is a half day, ending at 12:30 pm.)

Course will not be held again until 2025 (month as yet to be determined). Please see the FSPCA Community Course List (select "Human Food") for other options.

Price is $500.00 for Industry Members (19 spots total): Includes morning coffee, lunch on the first two days, a hard copy of manual, a parking permit (automatic for all non-UC affiliated), and certificate of completion.  

REFUND POLICY:

All cancellations/refund requests must be received by September 19th. There is a cancellation fee of $100.00. If you wish to substitute someone in your place, please email zgates@ucdavis.edu before Sept. 19th to discuss.

FSPCA PREVENTIVE CONTROLS FOR HUMAN FOOD

COURSE DESCRIPTION  (from the FSPCA website)

The Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-based Preventive Controls for Human Food regulation (referred to as the Preventive Controls for Human Food regulation) is intended to ensure safe manufacturing/processing, packing and holding of food products for human consumption in the United States. The regulation requires that certain activities must be completed by a “preventive controls qualified individual” who has “successfully completed training in the development and application of risk-based preventive controls”. This course developed by the FSPCA is the “standardized curriculum” recognized by FDA; successfully completing this course is one way to meet the requirements for a “preventive controls qualified individual.”

These courses are taught by Lead Instructors trained by the FSPCA, who have been instructed in how to teach the FDA-recognized standardized curriculum.

This course is a prerequisite to the FSPCA PREVENTIVE CONTROLS FOR HUMAN FOOD LEAD INSTRUCTOR TRAINING course.

When registering, please check the box on the online registration form to indicate that you will need a visitor parking permit.  Instructions will be sent to the email you registered with.
